On an event with more than one session, your ticket tiers start out shared by every session. To give one session its own price, quantity or settings, choose that session in the Tickets step and unlink the tier. Unlinking can't be undone.
This only applies to events with two or more sessions. On a single-session event, edit your tiers as normal.
How tiers work across sessions
There are two kinds of tiers on a multi-session event.
Shared tiers. These are set up under All sessions. Every new tier starts this way. Change a shared tier once and the change applies to every session it's linked to. Each linked session gets the tier's full quantity. For example, a shared tier of 50 tickets on an event with two sessions gives you 50 for each session.
Session tiers. These belong to one session only. Change them as much as you like and no other session is affected. You get a session tier by unlinking a shared tier, or by adding a new tier while a single session is selected.
Use shared tiers when every session is the same. Use session tiers when sessions differ, for example:
- A matinee that's cheaper than the evening show.
- A VIP tier on opening night only.
- A different quantity or ticket design for one date.
- Marking one session's tier sold out before the others.
See tiers for one session
- Click Events, click your event's name, then click Tickets.
- Click the session selector at the top. It shows All sessions to start with.
- Choose a session.
Shared tiers show as Linked. You can't edit them here. To change a linked tier for every session, go back to All sessions.
Unlink a tier for one session
- Choose the session from the session selector.
- Find the tier you want to change. It shows as Linked.
- Click the unlink icon on the right of that tier.
The tier is now that session's own tier. It no longer shows Linked, and you can change its price, quantity, sale times, ticket design, settings and On Sale switch for that session alone.
- Click the tier's name to change its settings, or the pencil icon to change only the price.
- Click Save.
Add a tier for one session only
- Choose the session from the session selector.
- Click Add Ticket Tier.
- Fill in the tier as normal and click Add Ticket Tier.
The new tier is sold for that session only. It won't appear under All sessions or in other sessions.
Add-ons
Add-ons work the same way. Open the Add-ons step, choose a session, and unlink an add-on or add one for that session only.
Important
- Unlinking can't be undone. You can't link a session tier back to the shared tier.
- To make a tier shared again, create a new tier under All sessions. Then take the session's own tier off sale, and delete it if it has no sales.
- Tickets already sold stay put. If you unlink a tier that has sales, those buyers keep their tickets for that session at the price they paid, even if you then change the price.
- Shared changes no longer reach an unlinked tier. If you change the price of a shared tier later, the unlinked session keeps its own price. Check each session after big changes.
- All sessions only shows shared tiers. Its Sold column counts the sessions that are still linked. Choose a session to see that session's own tiers and sales.
- Coupons are set per session. If you unlink a tier, check any coupons for that session still point to the right tier.
